Understanding Key Concepts

Taking a few moments to understand the key concepts explained in the articles linked below will help you get started quicker. 

Datasets and Packs explained introduces how Datasets and Packs are separate in Orgvue and need to be saved independently.

• Datasets contain your raw data in a series of rows and columns. 
• Packs are collections of slides used to visualize, analyze, and edit your data.  

Views and Drafts explained introduces that:

• A View is a read-only, live extract of a Dataset which enables the integrity of the Dataset to be maintained.
• A Draft provides a safe space for modeling organizational changes without changing your underlying data. 

Settings and Workspace introduces the two main Orgvue applications:

• Settings is used to manage your Orgvue tenant. You can load Datasets, edit properties, manage user permissions, and grant access to datasets and packs.
• Workspace allows you to interact with the data you have added to Orgvue via Settings. In Workspace you can create Views and Drafts and interact with your data using Packs.
