Dragging-and-Dropping positions across the organization structure

This article explains how to drag-and-drop efficiently over areas of the canvas using the ‘selected’ icon and ‘Pages’.

Moving positions by dragging and dropping enables efficient restructuring.  But you need to be able to see where a position is currently located in the structure and where it is moving to.  This can be challenging when there are a lot of positions on the canvas, or when you need to drag across organizational layers. 

By including ‘Pages’ you can:

1. Select a position (or multiple positions) to be moved. 
   1. The number of selected positions is shown in the ‘selected’ icon.
2. Navigate to the required reporting line with ‘Pages’.
3. Drag the ‘selected’; icon to the required manager.

Tips:

• Expand visualizations to the maximum number of levels so all positions are shown
• Take care not to add other positions to the selection whilst navigating the structure.  Clicking on a position will add it to the selection.
