Visualize the shape of the organization with a Funnel Chart

This article explains how to create a Funnel Chart to show the shape or the organization:  With this chart type, you can immediately see the number of positions at each organizational layer and rapidly identify where the organization extends to excessive layers.  The business rationale for analysing spans and layers is provided in the Introduction to Spans and Layers analysis.

 

1. Select the icon to add a slide to your pack
2. Select the Chart slide type

3. Select the Funnel Chart Type

4. Select ‘Depth’ as the ‘Group By’ property

As with other Chart types, you can

• Slice-and-dice your Charts using Paging to compare subgroups and rapidly identify where the organization extends to excessive layers.
• See which positions are included in aggregate totals
• Change the color scheme to match corporate branding
