This article provides a step-by-step guide to create a bar chart with subgroup categories split to provide further comparisons. In this example, the number of employees at each organization layer is split by gender.
The explanation assumes you know how to add a slide and specify the Chart slide type (see Analyze and visualize organization subgroups with Charts).
- In the 'Group By' option, select the property which defines your required subgroups. In this example, ‘Depth’ is being used. This is shown in italics because it is an Orgvue Generated Property. (for more information see What are Orgvue Generated Properties?)
- In the Color By' option, select the property required to split your subgroups. In this example, ‘Gender’ is being used
- Ensure the ‘Stacked’ Stacking option is selected (this is the default when a new slide is added).
- Select the cog for the “Value” options
- Uncheck “Outer labels” and check “Inner labels”
- Select the Legend icon to display the color legend
