Rank order subgroup categories with a Bar Chart

This article provides a step-by-step guide to create a bar chart with subgroups ranked in descending order.  In this example, the functional headcount is visualized.



The explanation assumes you know how to add a slide and specify the Chart slide type (see Analyze and visualize organization subgroups with Charts).


 

1. Ensure the Slide pane is selected
2. In the 'Group By' option, select the Property you want to visualize (in this example, ‘Function’ is used)

3. Select the cog icon for the ‘Group By’ options
4. Select ‘High to Low’

In the above example, one of the Function labels is truncated.  This can be fixed:

1. Select the cog icon for the ‘Group By’ options
2. Deselect ‘Auto’
3. Adjust the slider until your labels are shown on the chart
