If your cost data is formatted in your upload file, currency symbols will be brought over during data upload process. When this happens the values do not match with the number format and your visuals will not generate as expected.
The below screenshots give an overview of what this looks like in Orgvue, comparing an unformatted Salary property vs one with formatting.
Original file. Note that column B is how we want our cost data to look. Column C has the formatting we must avoid:
During the data loading process Orgvue will recognise the formatted field (column C) as ‘Text’
After changing the type to ‘Number’, note how the formatted version is displayed in the Worksheet compared to the unformatted version:
In Charts the formatted data cannot be aggregated:
The fastest way to resolve this is by updating your Excel file and removing any formatting. When you re-upload your data your visuals should now work as expected, like column B from the above example. Note that you can set formatting in Orgvue once the data has been loaded. Please refer to the Settings User Guide for property formatting.
