This article introduces the Orgvue release schedule and explains how Admins can manage which version is provided to Users.
Every month, usually on the last Tuesday, a new version of Orgvue is released.
Users can sign-up to receive monthly email product updates, and release webinar invites to see the latest features and enhancements. To subscribe, speak with your Customer Success Manager.
Where is information about the version I am using displayed?
The number of the Orgvue version you are using can be seen:
- In the top left of the screen;
- Within the URL.
The version is useful to know when reviewing User Guides (links below) and Release Notes to ensure you are reviewing the relevant content. This is also helpful information to provide Orgvue Support if you ever need to raise a ticket.
Which versions can be selected?
Admins can control which version users' access, with the option to select either the latest version or the previous version. Remaining one version behind can allow for more time to update documentation with new features and enhancements incorporated into established processes.
How do I specify the version to use?
The following approach is used by Admins to select the version which is presented for all users after they log in. As the selection is applied universally, it is recommended that decisions are taken in consultation with other Admins.
- Select ‘Manage updates.
- Select your preferred option.
- Select ‘Apply’.
Note:
- If an older version is selected it will not be possible to open any packs that have been created or modified in a newer version.
- If you manually select a version which is depreciated, your version will default to the latest release until another is selected.
Can Users override the version set by Admins?
There may be circumstances when a different version to the one set is required by an individual user temporarily. This can be done by locating the version reference in the URL (see ‘b’ in illustration above), changing the version to the required number and pressing ‘Enter’ on the keyboard.
