Talent Selection Selection Stages
Throughout the talent selection process, you will map employees to positions and define the stage of the selection process in which that employee-position connection, or link, sits. In this article, we will define those selection stages that you will assign to each employee-position link and the use case for each.
As you map employees to positions throughout the talent selection process, simply connecting or linking the two is not enough; you must also indicate the stage of the process in which that link sits. For example, if the employee is being considered as a candidate for the position, you would want to indicate that by assigning the “slated” stage. Once that employee is selected as the final choice to fill the position, however, you would want to update the link to the “selected” stage. It is important to note the depending on which perspective you are looking at the links from – employees of positions – each stage has a slightly different meaning. In the table below, we define each stage from both the employee and position perspective.
Stages
Selection Stage | Position Definition | Employee Definition |
---|---|---|
Out of Scope | Is out of scope for the process | Is out of scope for the process |
Unassigned | Does not have any candidates identified | Is not identified as a potential candidate for any open positions |
Slated | Has at least one slated candidate | Is slated as a potential candidate for a position |
Selected | Has a selected candidate | Is selected for a position |
Confirmed | Has a confirmed position holder | Is confirmed for a position |
Selection Error | Has an incorrectly assigned candidate | Is incorrectly assigned to a position |
Not Selected | N/A | Employee was not selected for that position and can be slated and selected for other positions |
In Exit Process | N/A | Employee will not be selected for a future position and starts the exit process |
It is important to note that while the defined selection stages are the standard Orgvue stages, they can be customized to fit your organization’s unique requirements.
