This article explains how to change the mapping of dataset properties after opening a template pack.
Note:
- After a dataset has been used to open a template pack, any mapped properties will persist: the next time the dataset is used to open a template, the same property mapping will be applied.
- The process outlined below removes the mapping from a dataset enabling different properties to be mapped the next time it is used to open a template pack.
- This process does not enable retrospective changes to a pack after the pack has been saved: A saved pack cannot be “remapped” with different properties. However, slides in a saved pack can be changed to replace mapped properties with any dataset property.
How to change the mapping of dataset properties
The image below shows the property mapping page after dataset properties have been mapped. In this example, we want to remove “Function” so that it can be replaced.
- Open the Settings application
- Select the burger menu
- Select Settings (this will open in a separate window)
- Select the dataset
- Select the “…” icon
- Select “Manage properties”
- Select the filter icon
- Select “Aliases”
- Only properties which have an ‘alias’ are listed in the property list
- Select the previously mapped property to be removed (in this case, "Function")
- Select ‘X’ for the Alias name in the “Alternative keys” field
- The alias name will always start ‘prop’ followed by the mapping reference e.g. ‘Functional’, ‘Geographic’, ‘Grading’
- Select ‘Save’
- Navigate to the window with Workspace loaded
- Reload the page
The next time the dataset is used to create a new pack from the template, the required new property can be selected for the mapping:
