This article explains how to see which Datasets and Packs you have access to. The content here:
- Assumes you have logged in to Orgvue (see Logging in to Orgvue) and landed at the Orgvue Home Page.
- Focusses on getting you to your data and packs rather than providing a comprehensive overview of the Orgvue Home Page. This is provided separately in the Orgvue User Guide.
- Requires you to know that Datasets and Packs are separate in Orgvue. In summary:
- Datasets contain your raw data in a series of rows and columns.
- Packs are collections of slides used to visualize, analyze, and edit your data.
- Datasets and Packs are used in combination: Any pack can be used with any compatible dataset.
Separate articles show how to open a pack, and create a new pack with the data you have access to.
Navigate to Workspace
- Select “Workspace” from the left-hand menu of the Orgvue Home Page:
In Workspace there are separate tabs for Datasets and Packs:
You can toggle between these to see the datasets and packs you have access to.
With the Datasets tab selected
You will see a separate card for each dataset you have access to. In the example below, there is only one dataset. The card shows:
- The name of the dataset
- The date the dataset was last modified (saved).
- The owner of the dataset
If Views and Drafts have been created, these can be seen by selecting the icon shown below.
NOTE: If the dataset card is greyed out, you do not have access to the dataset, but you do have access to a View and/ or a Draft which has been created from it.
After selecting a Dataset, a View or a Draft, you will be prompted to open an existing pack, or create a new pack.
With the Pack tab selected
You can see a separate card for each pack. In this example, there are three packs. As shown below, each card shows:
- The name of the pack
- The date the pack was last modified (saved).
- The data which was used to populate the pack when it was last modified (saved)
When you select a pack (or select ‘New Pack’), you will be prompted to select the data which will be used in the pack.
