This article explains how packs are shared securely with users to collaborate in Orgvue. Separate articles explain how to export data and packs from Orgvue.
Note:
- By default, a pack can only be seen by its creator and tenant Admins.
- Pack Permissions need to be granted for Users to see a pack.
- Because Datasets and Packs are separate, Users need to have Dataset Permissions in addition to Pack Permissions.
- See Orgvue data security for an overview of dataset permissions.
To identify the appropriate combination of Dataset Permissions and Pack Permissions, the intended use of the pack should be considered. For example:
- If the pack is to share specific analysis insights, recipients will need:
- Pack Permission and
- Access to the specific data used to generate the insights
- If the pack is for analysing the organization, recipients will need:
- Pack Permission and
- Access to a compatible Dataset (or a View)
- If the pack is for modelling the future organization, recipients will need:
- Pack Permission and
- Access to a compatible Dataset (or a Draft), with at least ‘Update’ Permission
Granting Pack Permissions to Users
Navigate to Settings by:
- Selecting the Burger icon.
- Selecting ‘Settings’.
- Select the ‘Packs’ Menu.
- Select the pack to be shared.
- Specify which User Groups will have:
- ‘Read-only’ permission: Users will not be able to edit slides in the pack.
- ‘Modify’ permission: Users will be able to add, change and remove slides in the pack.
- Select ‘Save’.
The pack will now be visible in Workspace and available for Users to select.
In addition, access links can be generated and shared:
TIP: With a specific slide selected, the URL can be copied from the browser. When the URL is clicked, users will land on the slide.
