Order the values of your text properties
When you load your text properties in Orgvue, their values will initially be ordered alphabetically. Most visualization options will give you the ability to set the sorting order as such:
However, you might have a scenario where you want to use a custom ordering of your values. A common example is if you have a property that flags High - Medium - Low values. Orgvue will automatically sort them alphabetically but you will most likely want them to follow the order of High - Medium - Low.
Initial ordering of the data (alphabetically):
You can overwrite the default order of your values through the Manage Properties functionality. Manage Properties can be accessed either through Settings or the Data dropdown menu when you are working within your Pack. Please note that you might not be able to access this functionality if you do not have edit rights to the Dataset.
The steps to set your new order are as follows:
- Open Manage Properties
- Select your property
- Go to the Values tab
- Tick the "
Provide users with a set of values"
checkbox - Enter your values in the desired order, separating each value with an ENTER
- Save your changes
- Reload your Pack
Your chart should now follow the ordering you set:
You will have seen that there were other options in the Values tab in Property Manager. For more information on Lookups please see the Settings User Guide section on Lookups.
With this particular example a common next step could be that you want to set specific colors for each of the three groups. Please refer to the assign color via color panel section of the Workspace User Guide on how you can do this.
